Creative Balloons GmbH was founded in 2009 by Dr. Fred Göbel, a medical doctor whose work as an anesthesiologist at Heidelberg University Hospital confronted him with the challenges of fecal incontinence in critical care on a daily basis. Vowing to revolutionize catheter technology and optimize intensive care, Dr. Göbel developed a unique process to mold polyurethane into microscopically thin balloon casings. His process has been used since 2015 in the manufacturing facilities in Waghäusel to produce hygh-tec™ systems. With funding from Wellington Partners, MIG Fonds and Salvia, Creative Balloons GmbH was able to position itself in the US market in 2023, followed by global rebranding as Advanced Medical Balloons (AMB).

Unmatched patient safety and user orientation: these are the values we pledge to uphold in the development of our hygh-tec™ systems – by putting quality first at every step in the value chain. We systematically focus our energies on our core competence and manufacture all our products exclusively in Germany. At AMB it is necessary to invest in the latest machinery and technology however our highest priority is  investing in our people, because we understand that our team is key  to our continued success.
